Ernestina Acquah

Gender and Social Policy Advisor

Ernestina Acquah is an accomplished lawyer and the Gender and Social Policy Advisor at the Ankumah Foundation, an NGO focused on health, safety, and education. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and a Master’s degree in Human Rights from the University of Education Winneba. She also has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with Sociology from the University of Ghana, Legon.

Ernestina has extensive experience in social development and advocacy. Currently, she serves as the Social Development Senior Officer (Unit Head) at the Department of Social Welfare in Suhum. In this role, she leads community support services, promotes and protects child rights, and mediates family disputes. She has also coordinated the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) program, registered and inspected day care centers, and provided hospital welfare services.

Her previous roles include working as a Customer Service Executive at Millicom Ghana Limited, where she resolved customer issues and marketed company products, and as a teacher at Begrant International School, where she imparted knowledge and maintained discipline among pupils.

Ernestina's key competencies include report writing, capacity building, community engagement, advocacy, mediation, and counseling. She has a proven track record of meeting deadlines with minimal supervision and possesses strong interpersonal skills, excellent analytical abilities, and adaptability to changing job demands. She is proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet usage.

Notably, Ernestina founded a chapter of the Ghana United Nations Association in Asokore Koforidua, promoting peace and socio-economic development. She has successfully mediated and reconciled numerous family disputes and established a Child Rights Club.

Ernestina’s career objective is to champion human rights and amplify the voices of marginalized communities, driving institutional transformation and legislative reforms to safeguard the vulnerable in society. Her dedication to social justice and her comprehensive expertise make her an invaluable asset to the Ankumah Foundation, where she continues to advocate for gender equality and social policy advancements.
