Rebecca Bediako

Climate & Sustainability Officer

Rebecca Bediako serves as the Climate & Sustainability Officer at the Ankumah Foundation, an NGO focused on health, safety, and education. She holds a Master of Philosophy in Physics from the University of Ghana and a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology and Atmospheric Physics from the University of Cape Coast.

Rebecca has accumulated extensive experience in the field of meteorology and climate science. Currently, she is a Meteorologist at the Ghana Meteorological Agency, where she is involved in climate modeling, data analysis, and forecasting. Her previous roles include Teaching Assistant at the University of Cape Coast and various positions within the Ghana Meteorological Agency, including Intern and Administrative Assistant.

At the Ankumah Foundation, Rebecca's responsibilities encompass developing and implementing climate and sustainability initiatives, conducting research, and promoting environmental awareness within communities. She has been actively involved in several key projects, such as the Degrees Initiative, where she contributed to workshops on solar radiation modification and climate reality summits.

Rebecca's notable achievements include the Maame Grace Bemma Award for Best Female Graduating Student, the Kwegyir Aggrey Special Award Prize, and multiple Dean’s Awards for Excellent Academic Performance. She has also held various leadership positions, including Secretary of the Physics Students Association of Ghana (UCC Chapter) and Interim Member of the Ghana National Meteorological Society.

Her skills include strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and organizational prowess. Rebecca is adept at using statistical and climatological tools for data analysis and has undergone numerous trainings and workshops to enhance her expertise in climate science and sustainability.

Fluent in English, Rebecca enjoys reading and music in her free time. Her dedication to environmental conservation and her proactive approach to climate education make her an invaluable asset to the Ankumah Foundation, where she continues to drive impactful climate and sustainability initiatives.
