Safety Coordinator
Samuel Okyere-Darko Appiah serves as the Safety Coordinator at the Ankumah Foundation, an NGO focused on health, safety, and education. He holds an MSc in Safety Health and Environment from the University of Salford, Manchester, and a BSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Samuel has accumulated a wealth of experience in various health and safety roles. Currently, he works as a Health and Safety Officer at Elitehands Limited in Manchester, where he is responsible for conducting weekly whiteboard and toolbox meetings, drafting method statements, performing risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with health and safety measures. His role also involves the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the preparation of weekly and monthly reports.
In his volunteer capacity as the Safety Coordinator and Advisor for the Ankumah Foundation since 2019, Samuel has been instrumental in drafting safety plans and activities, organizing safety training programs, and coordinating community safety awareness initiatives. He also manages defensive driving and fire first aid training for drivers and drafts safety and educational programs for mining communities.
Samuel’s professional training includes certifications in occupational health and safety, forklift operation, and the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS). He is known for his excellent communication skills, reliability, strong team-building abilities, and dedication to maintaining high safety standards.
